Julia Ross advises undergraduate students in the College of Information and Communications.

Background

Ross previously worked at Syracuse University, where she served as student success coordinator for the Office of Academic and Career Advising in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. 

With a primary background in music, Ross is a percussionist who enjoys an active schedule of performances with orchestras throughout the region, including the South Carolina Philharmonic and the symphonies of Aiken, Augusta, Florence, and Rock Hill. She has performed at four Percussive Arts Society International Conventions, twice with the University of South Carolina Percussion Ensemble as winners of the International Percussion Ensemble Competition.

Personal

Ross is an avid reader, traveler and crossword puzzle enthusiast. As a performer, she was a semifinalist in the 2023 Great Plains International Marimba Competition and won the 2024 South Carolina Day of Percussion Collegiate Keyboard Competition. Ross also loves animals, especially her Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Jackson.
