Background

Daniel Kwasnitschka is an assistant professor of management science at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. He received his Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

Kwasnitschka’s educational background encompasses industrial engineering and management (B.Sc., M.Sc.), with a particular emphasis on the implications of new technology within manufacturing and service organizations. During his academic journey, he had the opportunity to bridge theory with practical experience, gaining hands-on exposure to many of the technologies he had studied in renowned companies such as Mercedes, Audi, BMW and GKN.

Research Interest

Kwasnitschka’s research centers around the behavioral effects of digitalizing manufacturing operations and its effects on manufacturing KPIs. Over the past years, he has actively engaged with various industrial partners, leading and participating in numerous field experiments centered around new digital technologies in manufacturing. These projects span wearables, smart devices, Internet-of-Things applications, and artificial intelligence.
