My research has centered on the safety, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness of pharmacologic therapies. A substantial portion of my work has involved the design and analysis of studies aimed at elucidating the mechanisms by which a small but clinically significant

subset of patients with hypercholesterolemia experienced a severe, life-threatening adverse reaction to a particular statin therapy. My broader research interests include genetic epidemiology and causal inference. I am also fascinated by the philosophies of science and mathematics, particularly their foundational role in shaping contemporary statistical methodology.
