Samuel Y. Todd (Ph.D., Florida State) is a senior university leader and accomplished
scholar with a broad portfolio of administrative experience spanning global engagement,
academic operations, and faculty affairs. Currently serving as Associate Vice President
and Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of South Carolina, he provides
executive oversight of institution-wide international strategy, including partnerships,
global research collaborations, student and scholar mobility, and international program
development. His leadership has encompassed management of hundreds of international
agreements across multiple continents, supervision of comprehensive immigration and
student/faculty support services, and expansion of study abroad and exchange programs
reaching more than 60 countries. Previously, Todd served the College of HRSM as Associate
Dean and directed international engagement efforts across Europe, the Middle East,
Asia, and the Americas, while overseeing faculty affairs, college operations, and
research activities. His career reflects a consistent commitment to integrating global
perspectives into institutional priorities, supported by extensive international teaching,
relationship building, and cross-border collaboration experiences. Todd holds an appointment
as Professor in the David and Nicole Tepper Department of Sport and Entertainment
Management and is widely recognized for a distinguished, theory-driven research program
grounded in organizational behavior and strategic human capital perspectives. His
scholarship advances understanding of job seeker decision-making, employee attitudes
and motivation, and the linkage between human capital and organizational performance
in professional sport organizations and leagues.
